  • Clinical Counsellors (MACP/MC/MA)

We are looking for passionate and experienced clinicians in the Vernon area to join our interdisciplinary treatment team to deliver high-quality counselling services for our Operational Stress Recovery Program (OSRP).  This position consists of co-facilitating groups and conducting individual therapy for clients who have experienced operational stress injuries.

Area of Counselling Specialization:

  • Ability to conduct intake assessments and formulate treatment plans aimed at reducing trauma related symptoms.
  • Ability to co-facilitate psychoeducational/therapeutic groups for the purpose of assisting clients to understand and recover from symptoms of PTSD and depression.
  • Experience conducting one on one therapy for individuals who are recovering from a traumatic event.
  • Knowledge of assisting clients in return to work planning.
  • Case management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to prepare discharge reports for funding sources outlining client symptoms, treatment plan, prognosis, and return to work goals.
  • Ability to contribute to developing, evaluating and improving program effectiveness.

The successful applicant will have experience and training in exposure-based treatments such as Imaginal and In-vivo Exposure Therapy, Cognitive processing therapy,  or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Emotion-Focused Therapy, and couples therapy is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Master's degree in Counselling,  Psychology, or  Social Work
  • Designation of RCC, RSW, or equivalent, with professional liability insurance        
  • Minimum three (3) years post-graduate counselling experience ideally in the area of trauma resolution. 
  • Proficient intermediate computer and technological skills
  • Possess a valid Driver's Licence.
