Program Phases:
The ideal length of a traumatic stress injury treatment program varies based on individual needs, symptom severity, treatment approach, and available resources. Longer durations of treatment generally yield better outcomes. Evidence-based therapies typically require a minimum of eight to twelve weeks, while more complex cases may benefit from several months to a year or more of treatment. Individualized planning, ongoing assessment, and collaboration with experienced professionals are crucial for determining the optimal length of the treatment program.
The First Responders Program is based on a seven days per week model, providing continuous care and support throughout the program. The program includes six hours of treatment per day, with self-directed activities on the weekends and optional group programming. We also offer a Day Program for those who live locally and a virtual program for those who prefer to participate from home. Both options follow the same daily and weekly format. Intensive Programs contain all the elements of the Long program, following the same daily schedule.
Screening/Intake:
Before the program commences, a comprehensive screening and intake process is conducted to ensure that the program aligns with each participant's specific needs. This process allows us to gather important information, assess individual requirements, and establish a solid foundation for personalized care.
Week 1: Assessment, Goal Setting, and Initial Treatment
During the first week, participants undergo a thorough assessment to gain a deeper understanding of their unique experiences, symptoms, and treatment goals. Collaboratively with our skilled team, participants set personalized goals to guide their healing journey. The week also includes the initiation of initial treatment interventions, ensuring a solid foundation for progress.
Week 2: Intensive Treatment
Building upon the foundations established in the first week, the second week focuses on intensive treatment. Participants engage in concentrated therapy sessions tailored to their specific needs and goals. The immersive nature of this week allows for deep exploration, trauma processing, and the development of effective coping strategies.
**Participants have the option of taking a 1-2-week break
Week 3 and 4: At-home Reintegration and Practice
We understand the importance of maintaining continuity in therapeutic support, even during breaks from our program. During the two-week break back at home, participants will have the opportunity to engage in virtual therapy sessions with their assigned therapist. Through secure video or telephone appointments, participants will receive three hours of therapy per week, allowing them to continue their healing journey and receive ongoing support from the comfort of their own surroundings. This ensures that participants can stay connected with their therapist, address any emerging concerns, and maintain progress towards their therapeutic goals. We prioritize the well-being of our participants and strive to provide seamless care, regardless of their physical location.
Week 5: Intensive Treatment Continues
The fifth week of the program continues the intensive treatment phase. Participants build upon the progress made during the initial four weeks, further refining coping skills, engaging in targeted therapy sessions, and deepening their understanding of their healing journey.
Week 6: Termination, Evaluation, and Transition Planning
During the final week, participants work collaboratively with the treatment team to assess progress, evaluate treatment outcomes, and ensure a smooth transition. Termination sessions provide closure and celebration of achievements. Transition planning is facilitated to support participants in integrating their progress into their everyday lives beyond the program.
Aftercare:
To promote ongoing support and long-term success, participants have access to aftercare services. This includes telephone sessions with therapists, providing continued guidance and support during the post-program phase. Vocational rehabilitation services are also available as needed, supporting participants in achieving their career goals and successful reintegration into the workforce.
Our program offers a comprehensive journey of healing, from initial assessment to aftercare support, ensuring that participants receive the necessary care and tools to foster lasting change and improved well-being. With a seven days per week schedule, we provide continuous care and an immersive treatment experience, allowing for focused progress throughout the entire program.
